Rohilkhand Kingdom, Hafiz Rahmat Khan (AH 1167-1188 /1754-1774 AD), Kashipur&nbsp;Mint,&nbsp;Silver Rupee,&nbsp;AH (11)86 /13 RY, In the name of Shah Alam II, Obv:&nbsp;Persian legend “sikka mubarak Badshah Ghazi Shah Alam”, ‘Umbrella’ symbol at top,&nbsp;Rev:&nbsp;Persian legend “sana 13 julus”, “zarb Kashipur” on top &amp; inverted 'trishul'&nbsp;with ‘Damru’ mark in letter ‘seen’ of manus,&nbsp;11.11g, 21.00mm,&nbsp;(Unlisted in KM),&nbsp;no test mark, sharp &amp; centrally struck, luster, AU-UNC,&nbsp;Extremely&nbsp;Rare.

Note: Kashipur, identified with ancient Govishana during the reign of Harshavardhana, is known for its significant archaeological remains, which attest to a large and prosperous settlement in early medieval times. The Chinese pilgrim Xuanzang (Huen Tsang) is believed to have visited this region in the 7th century AD.&nbsp;<o:p></o:p>The present specimen has been found in association with coins from Sambhal and Pali Humayunpur, suggesting its inclusion in a regional circulation hoard from present-day Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Based on its find context, the issue is attributed to the Rohillas, most likely under Hafiz Rahmat Khan. Significantly, this appears to be the first recorded instance of Kashipur being identified as a mint town in numismatic literature through the discovery of these coins.<o:p></o:p>
