Note:&nbsp;Kulothunga Chola III ruled the Chola Empire from 1178 to 1218 AD, succeeding Rajadhiraja Chola II. His reign marked one of the final phases of strong imperial resurgence in Chola history.<o:p></o:p>During his rule, Kulothunga Chola III achieved several notable military successes, defeating the Hoysalas, the Pandyas of Madurai, the Cheras of Venad, the Sinhala rulers of Eelam, and the Chodas of Velanadu and Nellore. He also reestablished Chola authority over Karur, which had earlier been governed by the Adiyaman chiefs as Chola vassals.<o:p></o:p>His reign is particularly remembered for consolidating Chola influence across much of South India through military campaigns, political alliances, and administrative control.<o:p></o:p>
