Note: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) was established in 1851 and has been supplying scientific information to the government since that time. The Centenary Celebrations seal on the cover commemorates the completion of 100 years of this organization (GSI) in 1951.

In order to ensure that soldiers and their families could stay in touch, green envelopes were used for active service mail, as they were intended to prioritize and expedite the delivery of such correspondence. The green envelopes were a symbol of support and recognition for those serving in the Indian armed forces during the reign of King George VI.

Burgers, South Wales, Great Britain&rdquo;, sent from &ldquo;1833705 AC BURGESS R.W. | R.A.F.&rdquo; (hand endorsed on the back), dispatch seal &ldquo;ASIA POST | 21?&rdquo;, Censor label affixed that reads&ldquo;OPENED BY EXAMINER&rdquo; with octagonal rectangular box seal &ldquo;PASSED DHC / 35&rdquo; on it, R. W. Burgess&rsquo;s autograph is on the front, the hexagonal seal of &ldquo;RAF CENSOR 529&rdquo; is visible.&nbsp;RAF India, later called Air Forces in India (1938&ndash;47) was a command of the Royal Air Force (RAF) that was active from 1918 until Indian independence and partition in 1947. It was the air force counterpart of the British Army in India, excellent condition, Rare.

This cover was sent from The Chartered Bank of India, Australia &amp; China, Bombay to French Morocco. Franking office seal in Red ink &ldquo;BOMBAY G.P.O. C.B.I.A.C. B-358 | 28 III 51&rdquo; at the front, a dispatch seal in Black ink &ldquo;BOMBAY G.P.O. REG. | F | 28 MAR 1&rdquo; is noted on the back. It was sent on 28th March 1951 via GIBRALTAR 24 AP 51 as seen on the seal, transfer cancellation of MAROC, 26-4-1951 was applied, CASABLANCA-POST Telegram cancellation is present on this envelope and finally, delivery seal REGISTERED 26 APR 51 BRITISH P.O TANGIER was applied, Clearance Draft Department seal visible, intact condition, Rare Destination, Very Rare.
