Note: An exceptionally rare gold 2 Pagoda of Ayilam Thirunal Rama Varma, this coin is distinguished by the strongest possible double provenance, being cataloged as a plate specimen in both KM #27 (South Asian Coins & Paper Money – Indian Edition) and Beena Sarasan #214.Struck in 1052 Malayalam Era (1877 AD), this may represent a trial issue, as no other specimens of this type are known. It is the first issue to feature the “R.V.” monogram on the obverse, set within delicate sprays and encircled by “Travancore” in English and “Thiruvitamcodu” in Malayalam. The reverse displays the iconic Sankha (conch shell) motif, framed by floral sprays, combining historical significance with remarkable visual charm. This coin is preserved with sharp details and exceptional eye appeal, offering collectors a unique opportunity to acquire a museum-quality piece of Travancore numismatic history.
