Note:Similar rupees are recorded by P. P. Kulkarni (Coinage of the Bhonsla Rajas of Nagpur, p. 135, Type 19). The calligraphy closely resembles that of the East India Company’s Murshidabad and Calcutta issues, suggesting stylistic influence or shared engravers. Kulkarni notes that during RY 22, the date seen on this very coin, Cuttack (Katak) remained firmly under Bhonsla authority. An extremely important coin.<o:p></o:p>
