Bank of Bengal, 10 Sicca Rupees, Calcutta&nbsp;Circle, Dated 3rd December 1833, S. No. 18824, 'CANCELLED' stamped &amp; with cut signature, Type 1A.3.6, Obv:&nbsp;the personification of "Commerce" sitting on articles of merchandise in the&nbsp;center, Bank of Bengal written in an ornamented panel on the left in Bangla, Persian and Hindi, date and signature, Calcutta in promise text, the serial number placed on the top-right and left corners, denomination in numerals and words in Bangla, Persian and Kaithi above promise text, “TEN” in denomination panel on the lower-left, entered by signature and For the “BANK OF BENGAL”, Rev: denomination in bold words in English in the center with Persian, Hindi and Bangla on either side, ink annotation, torn and taped in the center,&nbsp;(KJ &amp; RR # 1A.3.6.1),&nbsp;reattached, holes, stains, folds, graffiti, about very fine, Extremely Rare.

Note: This Bank of Bengal 10 Sicca rupees note was originally&nbsp;cut into two halves, a common banking practice of the time. The noteholder was required to present&nbsp;both halves together at the bank&nbsp;to receive payment in&nbsp;silver or gold coins. The presence of a large&nbsp;'CANCELLED' seal&nbsp;at the center of the obverse and the&nbsp;cut through the signature area&nbsp;indicates that this note was&nbsp;redeemed and paid off by the bank.<o:p></o:p>
