Note: This banknote of 25 Company Rupees&nbsp;denomination—distinct from the more commonly seen&nbsp;Sicca Rupees—signifying its origin during the&nbsp;transition period of early Indian banking. Issued by the&nbsp;Bank of Bengal, this note is a&nbsp;complete and intact example, unlike the common practice of cutting notes into halves for redemption. Instead, the&nbsp;signature area was deliberately cut by the bank&nbsp;to mark it as&nbsp;cancelled after payment, a rare surviving example of such a procedure. This piece stands out as&nbsp;one of the rarest known examples&nbsp;of early Indian banknotes from this pivotal period.<o:p></o:p>
