Note: The Banknotes bearing the front-facing profile watermark of King George VI, were introduced due to the Japanese attempts to forge these notes during 1942-43.This banknote features an interesting three-line rectangular seal on the obverse, with a middle line dated "19th July 1949." While the top line with the bank's name is largely unreadable, the bottom line clearly states "Registered by." It is likely that this seal marks the date when the note was submitted back to the bank and subsequently withheld from circulation. An intriguing piece adding to its historical interest.
