Note: The Siyin-Nwengal Uprising occurred when the Chins revolted against British proposals that would disarm the tribes. The new commander, Brigadier General Palmer, C.B, arrived in December 1892 and ordered further reinforcements to garrison strategic points, destroy rebel villages, and ambush Chin fighters. This campaign devolved, as usual in Burma, into the dispatch of small columns into rebel areas; however, as the Chins were unwilling to fight, there were few encounters. The operations occurred from 19 October 1892 to 10 March 1893.
