It is attributed to Jagadekamalla on the basis of symbols found on similar coins in one such hoard by H. Krishna Sastri who was able to read Kannada legends forming: Jaga, Jagade, and Jagadeka. The Kannada letter &#39;Bha&#39; above the temple represents the first letter of the Hindu cyclic year &#39;Bhava&#39; as it was the practice known from the Goa Kadamba coins of the same period.
