struck by Governor Ghiyath-ud-din Iwad (First Series AH 614-616/1217-1220 AD),&nbsp;Obv: horseman to the left holding mace &amp; mint name lakur in between the legs of horse within inner&nbsp;circle, almost complete legends of kalima shahada with hijri date in arabic words on the outer circle, Rev:&nbsp;al-sultan al muazzam shams-ud- dunya wal din abul harith&nbsp;iltutmish al - qutbi nasir amir ul-mominin within dotted circle, 10.8g, 28.5mm, (G&amp;G # B19), choice very fine,&nbsp;Extremely Rare.

Ghiyath ud din I&#39;wad took over as governor of Bengal in AH 609 or 610. He does not appear to have struck any coins until AH 614. In AH 616 he struck a series of gold and silver horseman coins in the name of his overlord, the sultan of Delhi, Iltutmish. On these coins Iltutmish is entitled al-qutbi. This may refer to his original position&nbsp; as a freed slave of Qutb ud din Aibak&nbsp; or the fact that he belonged to Qutbi rather than to the Mu&#39;izzi faction of nobles. On most of these coins, Iltutmish is also entitled abu&#39;l muzaffar, but in this specimen, undetermined Kunya (Nick name Harith)&#39; for the king, instead of the usual Abu al-Muzaffar, it is clearly seen to be Abu al-Harith (&#39;Father of the lion&#39;).
