Note: The Bhopal Prisoner-of-War Camp was one of the principal internment centers established by the British Indian Government during the Second World War. The camp housed Axis prisoners captured during the conflict, including a substantial number of Italian prisoners from the North African campaign. To regulate transactions within the camp and restrict the circulation of regular currency, specially printed Prisoner-of-War coupons were issued for use within camp canteens and other authorized facilities.
