It is remarkably large for the type, with full and clear Tamil legends sharply struck across the surfaces. The coin exhibits remarkably well-preserved surfaces, showing outstanding detail and definition rarely encountered in this series.<o:p></o:p>It is possibly a commemorative issue associated with the famed Brihadeeswara Temple of Thanjavur, dating back to the illustrious Chola period, adding a layer of cultural and historical significance to the piece.<o:p></o:p>Offered here for the first time in any auction, and the only example known, this represents an important and significant rarity for collectors of Maratha coinage.<o:p></o:p>&nbsp;
