Note:&nbsp;The Jubbal Princely State, situated in the Simla Hills at an elevation of approximately 2,200 meters, was originally a feudatory of Sirmur. Jubbal attained independence following the Anglo-Gurkha War (1814–1816). Its capital was Deora, and the ruling family, belonging to the Rathore Rajput lineage, governed a territory that today forms part of modern Himachal Pradesh.<o:p></o:p>From a numismatic perspective, Jubbal’s gold coinage is exceptionally rare and distinctly ceremonial in nature. Under Raja Rana Sir Bhagat Chand Bahadur, gold Mohur and Half Mohur denominations were issued, including the notable example dated VS 1988 (1931 AD). These coins prominently feature a hexagram enclosing the word “Shri”, representing a Beeja of the Shri Yantra, a powerful Tantric symbol of prosperity formed by the interpenetration of triangles symbolizing Purusha and Prakriti, the cosmic male and female principles.<o:p></o:p>The inclusion of this sacred emblem, together with the devotional legend “Shri Shri Shri Ramchandra Jayati”, strongly indicates that these gold issues were intended for ritual or ceremonial purposes rather than for general circulation, emphasizing their religious and symbolic importance as well as their extreme rarity.<o:p></o:p>&nbsp;This is the first time a Jubbal Mohur has been offered in our auction!<o:p></o:p>
