Note: Shortly after his accession, Farrukhsiyar dispatched his cousin Roshan Akhtar (later Emperor Muhammad Shah) and Chin Qilich Khan (later Nizam-ul-Mulk, founder of the Asaf Jah dynasty) to reassert Mughal authority in the Deccan, resulting in the surrender of Deccan forts in AH 1130. The reverse die matches that of Shah Alam Bahadur’s Ausa mint rupee (cf. KM 348.10), indicating a mule issue produced from mismatched dies—a highly unusual and significant Mughal error, reflecting provincial die reuse during a transitional period.This is the third known specimen of this mint in silver and the only known example with this reverse type. Notably, this reverse die was also used during the reign of Jahandar Shah, underscoring its rarity and historical importance.<o:p></o:p>
