The ruling family of Baglana, of the&nbsp;Rathor clan, claimed descent from the ancient royal line of Kannauj.&nbsp;In 1638 CE,&nbsp;Raja Bairam Shah&nbsp;surrendered to the Mughals after a prolonged siege.&nbsp;His son later converted to Islam and entered imperial service as a loyal officer under Emperor Aurangzeb.
