Note: Pandua is one of the oldest towns of Bengal, currently located in district of Malda, West Bengal, and historically known as Hazrat Pandua or Firuzabad. It served as a prominent mint town for over a century and a quarter, from the reign of Ala ud-Din Ali Shah to Rukn ud-Din Barbak Shah I. After a hiatus of nearly five decades, the mint was revived under Sher Shah, who struck coins there between AH 946 and AH 948. Interestingly, while coins of earlier rulers refer to the mint as Firuzabad, Sher Shah's issues simply identify it as Pandua.<o:p></o:p>&nbsp;
