British India, 1946, King George VI, Nickel ¼ Rupee, Error: Double Struck, 2nd strike off center, Rev. II/diamond, head type II, strong features, nice quality, graded & slabbed by NGC as Mint Error AU 58, Exceedingly Rare in this grade.

Note: This quarter rupee is one of the most remarkable errors in the British India series, featuring a dual error—double struck with an extra planchet. Interestingly, the use of nickel metal for this denomination began in 1946 and continued until 1947, making it a one-year-only issue. This coin is of exceptional rarity, particularly within the British Indian error series, given its limited mintage during this brief period. It is likely being offered at auction for the first time.
