Note: During Humayun's brief second reign (AH 962-963), very few coins have survived to the present day. This particular specimen, minted in Lahore and dated AH 962, displays a partially worn date on its surface. Notably, a complete mint-name is discernible to the left of the rectangular cartouche on the reverse side. This coin is likely a commemoration of Humayun's entry into Lahore on the 2nd Rabi' of AH 962 (February 24, 1555 AD), an event marked by the reading of the Khutba in his honor. The issuance of this coin corresponds with these significant historical events. This coin features unusually clear legends, a rarity among coins from Shahrukh's era. Its relatively well-preserved condition highlights its exceptional rarity and historical significance, as finding such a coin with legible legends from this period is uncommon.
