Of the victory gained by the sword of Guru Gobind Singh Shah Nanak is the provider), with Fish symbol, Rev: Persian legend “zarb Sri Amritsar jiyo, maimanat manus, takht Akal bakht” (Struck at Illustrious Amritsar under the prosperous rule of the fortunate Akal Takht) with Ber symbol & vs (1)862 at the top, 11.03g, 22.01mm, (Unlisted in KM /Saran & Dalwinder # AM 237er), test mark, about very fine, Extremely Rare.Note: Coins of this type are often referred to as Morashahi due to the reverse symbol resembling a peacock's tail. However, they should correctly be called Bershahi, named for their resemblance to a sprig of Ber (Zizyphus jujuba). This particular coin is notable for having two extra leaves below the sprig. In the 1861 Vikram Samvat year, the leaf motif was replaced by a sprig, mistakenly identified as a peacock's tail. It was erroneously thought these coins were issued in the name of "Moran," a courtesan, leading to the Morashahi designation. An article in the Journal of Oriental Numismatic Society clarified that the symbol is actually a Ber sprig. As a result, "Ber Shahi" will now be used for coins with this symbol, which likely entered circulation in VS 1862.
