During the years 47 and 48 at the Agra mint, it seems there was a shortage of metal, leading to the utilization of Suri rupees. To accommodate the substantial large flans of the Suri rupees, a correspondingly large die featuring Akbar's design was specially crafted. The presented rupee serve as a testament to this event at the royal mint of Agra, giving rise to the creation of the notably large flan of the Nazarana Rupee of Akbar.
