In the years prior to his accession, Aurangzeb, the governor of the Deccan, founded the city of Aurangabad, which he named after himself. Aurangabad has been known on its coins exclusively by its honorific epithet &#39;Khujista Bunyad&#39;, meaning &#39;auspicious foundation&#39;, since AH 1100.
