Note: This particular coin lacks a regnal year, as the Hijri date remains constant while the regnal year changes with the accession of each new monarch. For instance, in 1069 AH, Shah Jahan was imprisoned, and Aurangzeb ascended to the throne. Despite several mints striking coins in Shah Jahan's name with RY 32/33 in 1069, coins from the Shahjahanabad mint do not feature the regnal year. The AH year suggests they were minted after Aurangzeb's initial coronation, and the absence of the regnal year on these coins can likely be attributed to Aurangzeb's presence as the new king in Shahjahanabad.

The die-engraver created a die bearing Shah Jahan's name but chose not to engrave the regnal year. During Shah Jahan's final years, octofoil-type silver rupees were issued. Only a few mints are known to have AH dates of 1067/68/69 and RY 30/31/32/33. These mints include Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Daulatabad, and Shahjahanabad (Delhi), which were witness to these early events.
