Soon after his accession to the throne, Jahangir began experimenting with weights of the coins, making them heavier by 20% initially and then in the third regnal year by 25%. The experiments ended on 11th of Ardibihisht of AH 1020, which fell in the 6th regnal year and coin weights were brought back to 11.6g standard of a normal rupee. The example offered here belongs to the period when Sawai rupees were made, but it is only 20% heavier. This unusual error must have occurred by oversight of the mint- master.
