Note: It is a C Variety type from Class I coins as per S. Kumar’s Gupta Catalogue. The Chhatra-type coins were innovations of Chandragupta II. The type was introduced probably with the idea of accentuating his Imperial status as the sole sovereign ruler (eka-chhatratva) in the country. It is a sharply struck coin with splendid characteristics and details.
