Note: Lakshmidevi/Lashumadevi, the daughter of Kholeshwara-the military commander serving King Singhana of the Yadava dynasty-was married to Kanharadeva (Krishna). Kanharadeva had a younger brother named Mahadeva. Since Kanharadeva’s son, Ramachandra, was still a minor, he named Mahadeva as his successor.

Queen Lashumadevi strongly disagreed with this decision. When the throne passed to Mahadeva instead of her son, she refused to acknowledge Mahadeva as king. Following the death of Kanharadeva, she asserted her independence and proclaimed her own authority by issuing gold Padma Tanka coins in her name, at some point assumed a regency, most likely in support of her son's claim to the throne. Lakshmidevi's coins are as rare as those of Amanadeva; clearly this constitutional crisis was not of long duration. The queen's name is not rendered in Sanskrit, but rather Marathi; Lasuma being the vernacular rendition of Lakshmi.
