Rohilkhand, Ghausgarh Mint, 'pseudo' mint name Najibabad, Silver Rupee, AH (11)96/23 RY, "Saya-e-fazle elah" Couplet, In the name of Shah Alam II, Obv: Persian legend "sikka zad bar haft Kishwar saya-e-fazle elah, hami deen-e-Muhammad Shah Alam Badshah", with the Hijri year & a crescent mintmark, Rev: Persian legend "sana 23 julus" & "zarb Najibabad" at the top, the initial letter "Zwad", a star & katar mint marks at the bottom, (Unlisted in KM), superb quality, nice toning, graded & slabbed by NGC as MS62 Very Rare in this grade.

Note: In 1774, the seat of the Rohillas, Najibabad, was lost to Awadh. Consequently, the seat of Najib Khan's family was relocated to Ghausgarh, a fortress built by Najib Khan in 1765. Coins dated 1188/16 RY featuring the Awadh mint mark (a fish) to the right of the RY are known. A parallel series of coins from the 'Najibabad' mint, bearing the Rohillas' Katar mint mark, also exists. It is suggested that these coins were likely struck by the Rohillas at their fort in Ghausgarh.

Notably, the date and mint mark on this coin are of an unlisted type in the KM catalog.
