Note: The gold coins attributed to this ruler generally bear five lions on it, however, this type has the Kannada letter 'Bha'. It is attributed to Jagadekamalla on the basis of symbols found on similar coins in one such hoard by H. Krishna Sastri who was able to read Kannada legends forming: Jaga, Jagade, and Jagadeka. The Kannada letter 'Bha' above the temple represents the first letter of the Hindu cyclic year 'Bhava' as it was the practice known from the Goa Kadamba coins of the same period.
