Note: After Aurangzeb's death in 1707, a struggle for succession unfolded among his three surviving sons: Muazzam, who governed Kabul, Azam, the governor of Gujarat, and Kam Baksh, who ruled the Deccan. This led to conflicts over ambitions and power struggles within the empire, marking a decline in centralized authority and ethical values. The war of succession persisted until the eventual downfall of the Mughal Empire. Azam declared himself emperor from Ahmednagar, while Kam Baksh asserted his sovereignty by conquering key territories like Gulbarga (Ahsanabad) and Hyderabad.
