Note: Qandahar, historically pivotal, witnessed successive changes in governance between Afghan chiefs and Indian rulers. Initially under Babur's control in 1522, it later briefly gained independence under Askari. Humayun's reconquest in 1545, supported by Persian aid, established Mughal authority, which endured until Akbar's reign. The formal inclusion of Qandahar into the Mughal Empire around 1594 marked a significant milestone in Indo-Afghan relations.

The fractional or smaller units of Sharukhis are exceptionally rare and notably absent from many collections. This particular specimen, featuring an unusual denomination, is being offered for the first time in our auction.
