Note: Somesvara succeeded his father Jayasimha II. He led military expeditions to Central India, Gujarat, Konkan, Andhra Pradesh, and Tamilnadu and subdued various local and imperial dynasties. Silver coins of the Chalukyas are virtually unknown and only a handful have surfaced so far. Their typology suggests that coins of this type became predominant in the 11^thto 13^thCentury and were issued by a number of rulers of other dynasties like the Yadavas.
