This particular coin is a rare and unusual type. It shows Serapis seated on a distinctive throne alongside the Kushan royal tamgha, a combination not seen on previously recorded examples. Compared to other known Serapis coins sold at auctions or listed in major references, this piece may represent an early or first issue of the type. Göbl, in his important study of Kushan coins, records this design only for a quarter dinar and does not illustrate a full dinar specimen, making this coin especially significant.
