Farrukhsiyar&nbsp;(AH 1124-1131 /1713-1719 AD), Sikakul Mint, Gold Mohur,&nbsp;AH 1124, "Badshah Bahr-o-Barr" Couplet, Obv: Persian legend "Sikka zad az fazl-e-haq bar sim-o-zar, Badshah bahr-o-barr Farrukhsiyar" with 1124 Hijri year, Rev: Persian legend "sana julus" &amp; “zarb Sikakul”&nbsp;visible at the bottom,&nbsp;10.96g, 21.60mm, (KM # 390.31), no test mark, centrally struck, nice quality,about extremely fine, Exceedingly Rare.

Note: The Sikakul mint remains extremely rare for Farrukhsiyar, with the present Mohur being the only known specimen struck in gold. During this period, the Faujdari of Sikakul was entrusted to capable regional military administrators, most notably Anwar-uddin Khan, later Nawab of the Carnatic, who received the titles Anwar Khan and subsequently Shahamat Jang under Farrukhsiyar. &nbsp;Shortly after his accession, Farrukhsiyar dispatched his cousin Roshan Akhtar (later Emperor Muhammad Shah) along with Chin Qilich Khan (later Nizam-ul-Mulk and founder of the Asaf Jah dynasty) to reassert Mughal authority in the Deccan, resulting in the surrender of several Deccan forts in AH 1130. The victory, however, proved short lived, as the Marathas rapidly regained control, while the deposition of Farrukhsiyar in AH 1131 (1719 AD) further accelerated the fragmentation of the Mughal Empire.&nbsp;It is offered for the First Time in Our Auction!<o:p></o:p>
