Note:&nbsp;NGC records only 2 coins in higher grades. This appears to be a previously unrecorded reverse type for 1878, distinguished by a pineapple-type flower above the “O” in ONE, a feature more commonly associated with 1862 coinage. Unlisted in major catalogues, this variety is likely appearing at auction for the first time.<o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p><o:p></o:p>
