Shah Jahan II, Rafi-ud daula&nbsp;(AH 1131 /1719 AD), Alamgirpur (Bhilsa) Mint, Silver Rupee, Ahad RY, Obv:&nbsp;Persian legend “sikka mubarak Badshah Ghazi, Shahjahan”,&nbsp;Rev: Persian legend “sana Ahad julus” &amp;&nbsp;“zarb Alamgirpur” at bottom,&nbsp;11.23g, 20.09mm,&nbsp;(Unlisted mint in KM/Ref JONS # 190), test mark, crude calligraphy, about very fine, Unique.

Note: Coins bearing the mint name “Alamgirpur” were issued after Aurangzeb renamed the town of Bhilsa to Alamgirpur following the destruction of the Beejamandal temple in 1682; however, examples with the Alamgirpur mint name are known with dates predating this event, suggesting either an earlier, distinct mint or the need for further research into the location of an Alamgirpur mint.Subsequent issues from this mint became more numerous as Bhilsa/Alamgirpur served as an important garrison station on the north–south route in Malwa during Mughal campaigns. Coins from later emperors (e.g., Shah Alam Bahadur, Jahandar Shah, Rafʿī al-Darjat, and Muhammad Shah) have been documented with Alamgirpur mint marks, and the positioning of the regnal year to the left of “Julus” on the reverse aligns these attributions confidently with Shah Jahan II rather than Shah Jahan III.
