Akbar (AH 963-1014/1556-1605 AD), Silver Square Rupee, Mintless and Dateless type, Obv: Persian legend "Allahu Akbar"&nbsp;within a dotted border, Rev: Persian legend "Jalle Jalalahu", letter "Jim" of "Jalla" at the top elongated within a dotted border,&nbsp;11.36g, 18.07 x 18.27mm, test marks, floral decorated fields on both sides, bold strike, XF-AU, Very Rare.<o:p></o:p>

Note: This mintless, and dateless square rupee was introduced by Akbar soon after AH 990 as part of his Ilahi coinage reforms, marking the Islamic millennium. It was intended to assert Akbar’s authority as the supreme leader (Khalifah) and to stabilize trade, countering the discounting of older, dated coins.<o:p></o:p>The coin represents the earliest phase of Akbar’s Ilahi coinage, featuring bold calligraphic legends with floral decoration on both sides. The extended “Jim” of “Jal” is a distinctive typographical feature of this variety, prized by collectors for its artistry and historical significance.<o:p></o:p>
