Note: The Gur Ta Gaddi commemorative coin was first issued in 2008 from the Mumbai Mint, without the Rupees (₹) symbol, which had not yet been introduced at the time.In 2022, the issue was restruck at the Hyderabad Mint. During the restriking, the Rupees symbol (₹) was inadvertently incorporated into the design, following its introduction in the intervening years. Upon discovery of the error, the proof sets were recalled. It is believed that fewer than 150 such sets had already entered the collectors domain and could not be recalled.The issue was subsequently corrected, and in 2023 the restrike was issued from the Hyderabad Mint with the Rupees symbol removed. The present specimen represents the corrected 2023 restrike and is an interesting example of a design correction in modern Republic of India coinage.
