Burgers, South Wales, Great Britain&rdquo;, sent from &ldquo;1833705 AC BURGESS R.W. | R.A.F.&rdquo; (hand endorsed on the back), dispatch seal &ldquo;ASIA POST | 21?&rdquo;, Censor label affixed that reads&ldquo;OPENED BY EXAMINER&rdquo; with octagonal rectangular box seal &ldquo;PASSED DHC / 35&rdquo; on it, R. W. Burgess&rsquo;s autograph is on the front, the hexagonal seal of &ldquo;RAF CENSOR 529&rdquo; is visible.&nbsp;RAF India, later called Air Forces in India (1938&ndash;47) was a command of the Royal Air Force (RAF) that was active from 1918 until Indian independence and partition in 1947. It was the air force counterpart of the British Army in India, excellent condition, Rare. 

Note:&nbsp;On the left margin of this cover are instructions explaining how to use this green envelope. This was intended to be used as a special type of envelope for sending mail related to active service in the armed forces. The correspondence contained in this envelope does not need to be censored by the Regiment. This envelope is subject to examination at the base and the sender must sign a certificate stating, &quot;I certify on my honor that the contents of this envelope contain nothing but private and family matters.&quot;.

In order to ensure that soldiers and their families could stay in touch, green envelopes were used for active service mail, as they were intended to prioritize and expedite the delivery of such correspondence. The green envelopes were a symbol of support and recognition for those serving in the Indian armed forces during the reign of King George VI.

Note: This cover is a fascinating offering as it has the advertisement of Afghan Stamps &amp; Coins with its logo on this cover, it is an interesting observation to notice that there was a proper hobby store around a century ago in Peshawar city that is currently in Pakistan. It was sent from K.C. Krishen and Company, Ram Chowk, Peshawar City.

H. M. S.&rdquo; printed on it, Registered Label affixed as &ldquo;R 123 | EXPERIMENTAL B.O. | MS &ndash; 194&rdquo;, on the reverse of the slip the instruction for pasting this slip is mentioned in Roman, Devnagari &amp; Persian script. Note:&nbsp;An important cover that was probably made by an eco-friendly enthusiast, as per the Government advisory.&nbsp;In the reign of George VI, it is possible that the term Fasten Envelope was not commonly used or may have been used to refer to a particular practice or service that is not well documented as a whole. According to postal terminology, &quot;FASTEN ENVELOPE&quot; refers to a process of ensuring an envelope&#39;s contents are protected and remain intact during transit through adhesive or other means.
