Private Cover, First Day Cover in small size, Republic India, 1951, 2 Annas stamp of Geological Survey of India Centenary issue released on 13th Jan. 1951, with a very beautiful first-day cancellation round seal as &ldquo;GEOLOGICAL SURVEY OF INDIA | CALCUTTA - 13 TH. JAN. 1951 | CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS | CALCUTTA |&rdquo; in violet colour, along with a map of lower India highlighting &ldquo;Calcutta&rdquo; within the seal and a round dispatch seal as &ldquo;CALCUTTA G.P.O. | 13 JAN 51&rdquo;, excellent condition, Rare.

Note: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) was established in 1851 and has been supplying scientific information to the government since that time. The Centenary Celebrations seal on the cover commemorates the completion of 100 years of this organization (GSI) in 1951.

King George VI period&nbsp;Censor and Registered Cover, 1944, the stamp of value 1+1&frac12; Anna tied, addressed to Bombay, dispatched from Karachi, postmark of &ldquo;Garden Road | Karachi&rdquo; with the date &ldquo;6. JUN 44&rdquo;, it was sent during World War II, opened by CENSOR department and re-secured by affixing a label and endorsed by Rubber Stamp &ldquo;OPENED BY EXAMINER&rdquo;,&nbsp;Perhaps&nbsp;Unrecorded, very good condition.

Dispatch cancellation &ldquo;BOMBAY R.M.S. 7 MAY 1946&rdquo;. Handwritten &ldquo;By Air Mail&rdquo; and rectangular Black ink seal of AIR MAIL applied. Endorsed by &ldquo;Written in Italian&rdquo; by hand at the front, &ldquo;172&rdquo; round seal on the back. Complete details of prisoner/sender given &ldquo;Letter no. register as 71629, Rank of sender &ldquo;Second Lieutenant&rdquo;, Camp No. 26 (1no Wing) Group V, &ldquo;YOL&rdquo;, Kangra Valley-INDIA, excellent condition, Extremely Rare.

@ Nawaz, doted seal has to show enlarged in the main image and catalogue as well, especially bottom corner of dotted seal.

Rare Collection of King George VI Period Cover

Green Envelope, Airmail, King George VI, 8 Annas Stamp affixed, RAF Censor 529, &lsquo;ACTIVE SERVICE&rsquo; and &lsquo;CROWN COPYRIGHT RESERVED&rsquo; printed, BY AIR MAIL Blue label affixed, addressed to&nbsp;&ldquo;Mrs. T.E. Burgers, South Wales, Great Britain&rdquo;, sent from &ldquo;1833705 AC BURGESS R.W. | R.A.F.&rdquo; (hand endorsed on the back), dispatch seal &ldquo;ASIA POST | 21?&rdquo;, Censor label affixed that reads&ldquo;OPENED BY EXAMINER&rdquo; with octagonal rectangular box seal &ldquo;PASSED DHC / 35&rdquo; on it, R. W. Burgess&rsquo;s autograph is on the front, the hexagonal seal of &ldquo;RAF CENSOR 529&rdquo; is visible.&nbsp;RAF India, later called Air Forces in India (1938&ndash;47) was a command of the Royal Air Force (RAF) that was active from 1918 until Indian independence and partition in 1947. It was the air force counterpart of the British Army in India, excellent condition, Rare. 

Note:&nbsp;On the left margin of this cover are instructions explaining how to use this green envelope. This was intended to be used as a special type of envelope for sending mail related to active service in the armed forces. The correspondence contained in this envelope does not need to be censored by the Regiment. This envelope is subject to examination at the base and the sender must sign a certificate stating, &quot;I certify on my honor that the contents of this envelope contain nothing but private and family matters.&quot;.

In order to ensure that soldiers and their families could stay in touch, green envelopes were used for active service mail, as they were intended to prioritize and expedite the delivery of such correspondence. The green envelopes were a symbol of support and recognition for those serving in the Indian armed forces during the reign of King George VI.

Dispatch cancellation of Bombay in Red ink reads &ldquo;BOMBAY | -5VII 72 | PLAB-3435&rdquo; applied. Sent to USA on 5-7-72, BYCULLA post office cancellation in a Black circle is present. Reverse impressions from franking seals of another cover of 4 &frac12; square and 4 round seals are observed on the back, excellent condition, Very Rare.

Meter Franking, 1951, Registered Cover, dispatched to French Morocco, Franking of 8 Annas of India Postage in square box applied in Red ink, Registered label &ldquo;R | M733 | BOMBAY G.P.O.&rdquo; affixed and rubber seal of Blue ink of &ldquo;Registered&rdquo; applied.&nbsp; 

This cover was sent from The Chartered Bank of India, Australia &amp; China, Bombay to French Morocco. Franking office seal in Red ink &ldquo;BOMBAY G.P.O. C.B.I.A.C. B-358 | 28 III 51&rdquo; at the front, a dispatch seal in Black ink &ldquo;BOMBAY G.P.O. REG. | F | 28 MAR 1&rdquo; is noted on the back. It was sent on 28th March 1951 via GIBRALTAR 24 AP 51 as seen on the seal, transfer cancellation of MAROC, 26-4-1951 was applied, CASABLANCA-POST Telegram cancellation is present on this envelope and finally, delivery seal REGISTERED 26 APR 51 BRITISH P.O TANGIER was applied, Clearance Draft Department seal visible, intact condition, Rare Destination, Very Rare.
