Sir Thomas Anbury Bart | Saugor&rdquo;.&nbsp; It is a variant of Giles # Type 21, with an open middle segment on the right side, which is unrecorded by Giles, very good condition, Rare.

Note: Currently known as &#39;Sagar Island&#39;, Saugor lies on the continental shelf of the Bay of Bengal, lying in the Ganges and Brahmaputra deltas. It is the largest island in the Ganges delta, occupying about 300 square kilometers in the Kakdwip subdivision of the south 24 Parganas district. The city of Ganga Sagar is of religious significance, as it hosts the Ganga Sagar Mela (the second largest gathering of Hindus after the Kumbh Mela) during the Makar Sankranti festival. A popular pilgrimage site on the island is the Kapil Muni temple.

Historically, it served as a mail off-loading depot for incoming ships bound for Calcutta and was devastated by a cyclone in 1864.
