DLO Cover, Registered Post, 1950, emanated from Bulawayo in Southern Rhodesia, addressed to A. Siruvayal P.O. via Kallal, Ramnad district, South India, tied up with 3 stamps of George VI valued with 6 pence. Dispatched by registered post from BULAWAYO registration no. 9318 as seen on the label.

A total of 8 postmarks/seals are visible, postmark of RANMANAI-SIRUVAYAL RAMNAD with the date in the center visible in two places, the cover reached Siruvayal on the 1st August 1950. D.L.O. Madras cancellation in a square box of 3 Aug 50 at two places. IPOH cancellation of 21 Aug 50 in the round circle. Additionally, an extra paper-note affixed on the cover with the seal of &ldquo;DEAD LETTER OFFICE MADRAS&rdquo; and &ldquo;RE-EXPEIDE&rdquo; with the instruction of redirected to &ldquo;IPOH&rdquo; (via) Madras in Red ink, excellent condition, Very Rare.&nbsp; 

Note: IPOH is situated in the Perak of Malaysia, probably it was redirected from Madras to Malaysia as many traders from the state of Tamilnadu were having businesses in Malaya.

Green Envelope, Airmail, King George VI, 1944, Pair of 4 Annas Stamp affixed, &lsquo;ACTIVE SERVICE&rsquo; and&lsquo;CROWN COPYRIGHT RESERVED&rsquo; printed, BY AIR MAIL Blue label affixed, sent from &ldquo;S/Sar R. J. Tucker 165098&rdquo; (hand endorsed on the back), two dispatch seals as &ldquo;KOTAGIRI | 29 DEC.| 8.30 A.M. | 1944&rdquo;, addressed to&ldquo;MRS. R. TUCKER | SUMMERLAND | HONITON | DEVON | ENGLAND&rdquo;, &amp; Censor seal triangle &ldquo;FIELDCENSOR 118&rdquo; are seen, delivery seal round &ldquo;ADVANCE BASE POST OFFICENO 14 | 30DEC. | 7 15 P. M. | 1944&rdquo; on the reverse, hand endorsed text &ldquo;received on 8th January 1945&rdquo; on the front, R J Tucker&rsquo;s autograph is on the front,&nbsp;excellent condition, Rare.

Note:&nbsp;On the left margin of this cover are instructions explaining how to use this green envelope. This was intended to be used as a special type of envelope for sending mail related to active service in the armed forces. The correspondence contained in this envelope does not need to be censored by the Regiment. This envelope is subject to examination at the base and the sender must sign a certificate stating, &quot;I certify on my honour that the contents of this envelope contain nothing but private and family matters.

In order to ensure that soldiers and their families could stay in touch, green envelopes were used for active service mail, as they were intended to prioritize and expedite the delivery of such correspondence. The green envelopes were a symbol of support and recognition for those serving in the Indian armed forces during the reign of King George VI.

First Air Mail Cover, 1938, Bombay to Kathiawar, King George VI period, 3 stamps of total value 2 Annas affixed, an interesting First Air Mail that emanated from Bombay GPO on 20th November 1938, this cover has &lsquo;FIRST AIR MAIL BETWEEN BOMBAY &amp; PORBANDAR and &lsquo;BY AIR IN INDIA&rsquo; printed on the front. An interesting seal in Red ink reads &lsquo;FIRST AIR MAIL | BOMBAY-KATHIAWAR | 21ST. NOV. 1938 tied in a rectangular box, pictorial cover with aero plane picture printed on it. At the back delivery postmark of PORBANDAR with the date was applied, the envelope also displays the printed text and logo of AIR SERVICES OF INDIA LTD at the reverse, excellent condition, Rare.
